While I’m assured this will be used in a couple of upcoming productions, I couldn’t tell you what shows they are! But a crossbow they wanted so the stock was made out of an off cut of Sapele with a laminated Sapele bow.
Obviously no one wants a working crossbow, so instead of a trigger the bow was simply strung through a hole in the stock to ensure it can never actually be fired…. and in any case as the bow is laminated instead of bent, it’s also incapable of being pulled.
