A production of Fame at a local theatre meant that they needed both a ballet bar and a set of school lockers, so the easiest solution was to build a double sided set on wheels.
The ballet bar was finished with a mirrored wall (mirror paper rather than glass for safety!) while the lockers were painted on the reverse as only one needed to be functional. The ballet bar itself is a lovely length of oak, as I had some spare stair bannister railing knocking about and it seemed a shame not to use it.
Have to say that once on stage both sets looked magnificent and I can’t wait to see what I’ll be building for the next production, which will be in March next year.
