A friend that produces amazing kids theatre shows occasionally comes to me for props. This time it was for a gavel.
Luckily I had some beautiful black walnut in stock to turn the hammer in two parts and the block.
The hammer handle was turned with a 15mm stub to match a hole drilled into the head which after having a slot cut in it was hammered into the head with a wedge to ensure it never comes loose.
