The thing that annoys me most about bird tables is quite how much you can pay for them, but look closely and they are often nailed together and still relatively expensive. Don’t get me wrong, this oak bird table isn’t inexpensive, but it’s solid, all screw holes are plugged with oak dowels, and even the main table is cut from a single slab of oak rather than glued up from multiple strips.
They do say that the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so I guess you could say that our bird tables are approved by both Robins and Magpies!
With a slatted oak roof sitting on oak pillars, the main table is a 20mm thick single slab of oak supported atop an oak column, itself seated on a substantial base with predrilled angled holes to allow pegging for ultimate stability.
This really is a stunning bird table and one that would grace any garden!
I love my beautiful birdtable….I feed the magpies, I sometimes feed the sparrows too, it gives me a sense of enormous well-being. And then I’m happy for the rest of the day, safe in the knowledge there will always be
A bit of my heart devoted to it!!
Amazing work – much better than the local Hilliers garden centre units which are just (badly ) nailed together!
