Having been given a challenge to build something over the bank holiday weekend without using any screws, nuts and bolts, I settled on attempting a folding table to go with the Rocking Garden Sun Lounger I built last month.
I had a few Iroko offcuts left from the lounger so that was the start point. The struts and slats for the top were easy enough, and then it was time to make dowels from the Iroko for the joints and turn the carry handle on the lathe.
Odd numbers are always best, whether it be planting flowers in groups or slats for a table, but 7 doesn’t divide into two halves so I split the centre slat to keep the symmetry.
I’m happy with the build, but judging by the cats reaction, he’s not that impressed!
