Today is the day I finally got fed up not owning a decent mallet and decided to make one.
With a hefty lump of oak for the head and an off cut from the bin as a handle, the only other materials were some scraps from the kindling pile to make wedges to ensure the handle never comes loose.
Couldn’t resist a quick wipe with some danish oil, but now it looks so good I don’t want to use it!!
